Crazy Mountain Brewing

photo2Crazy Mountain has got to be one of my favorite breweries – it’s got it all: awesome location in Edwards, CO with a backdrop of the mountains, extremely laid-back environment with picnic tables and bags to play outside and local art on the walls, oh yeah, and great beer.

I had a sampler so was able to try a few different beers. A few that really stuck out to me was the Rum Barrel Aged Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, which is simply their Horseshoes and Hand Grenades (American ESB) aged in rum barrels. Yes, pretty self explanatory, but whoa! Really fantastic at 35 IBUs and 6% ABV.photo1

Another that stuck out with the Snow Cat Stout, moderately hoppy at 57 IBUs and 5.9% ABV, it’s brewed with locally roasted coffee, which is an ideal beverage before or after the slopes.

The Emotional Rescue is a double IPA. OMG, 150 IBUs will smack-you-in-the-face but oh so gently! At 9% ABV this double IPA is oh-so-smooth and really great for a great afternoon of drinking.
