New Planet Gluten-Free

I have been venturing on a gluten-free diet for the past month, and if you’ve ever tried to cut out wheat you know it’s a daunting task. I had tried New Planet (Boulder, CO) last November at a beer bloggers conference, but didn’t really give it a second thought. But now, more often breweries have been accommodating the gluten-free population.
Tread Lightly Ale by New Planet is a gluten-free ale beer. Light in color and a bit sweet, its flavors are orange peel with a touch of hops. Because it is on the sweeter site I would drink this during the warm summer months. However, if you’ve read any of this blog, I’m not into sweet beers and love my hops. But because it’s a gluten-free options it’s really not bad and very drinkable, especially at 5% ABV.
Not only is New Planet producing gluten-free beers, but they also donate a portion of their profits each year to organizations like Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (this years organization).

  1. Thanks for the post! We launched our Off Grid Pale Ale in February, which is full of hops and you'd be surprised that it's gluten-free. We can ship you a sample.
