Organic beer: Asher Brewing Company

I’m really excited to tell you about Colorado’s first organic brewery. Ya, that’s right, organic brewery. Asher Brewing Company in Boulder, Colo., has it going on.
At first I was a little hesitant to try Asher due to an aunt and uncle telling me the beer really did not have great flavor. Well, if they’re reading this, I beg to differ!
Asher Brewing is in a small, somewhat industrial office space, it’s a little difficult to find as well. There is a sign off 63rd that says, “brewery,” and then you have to do a few little turns before actually finding their taproom. But, like I said, it’s worth the hunt.
I tried the sampler, which came with some hefty 4 ounce samplers for $10, though I’m not complaining one bit.
Tree Hugger Organic Amber is smooth, full-bodied, malty brew balanced with mild hop bitterness. Excellent, easy amber drinking. Of course, my favorites are always IPAs. Asher’s Green Bullet IPA and Greenade Double IPA will leave you hops lovers wanting more, especially with their alcohol levels at the 9% range. Heck yes! Another of their fantastic ales is the Green Monstah Strong Ale, with enough caramel-like malty sweetness, but with enough hops to give it a bit of a bite. The best part is, it’s nearly 11% ABV. They also have the Hippie Nectar Wheat, and a seasonal cherry wheat worth giving a try.
Asher Brewing is Certified Organic. On tap at several locations in the Boulder-metro area.
