I have the luxury stemming from what I call, BeerSnobDaddy. He is always gracious enough to bring back East Coast delicacies from his work travels that I have not been introduced to living west of the Mississippi. Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery just happened to be in the fridge while I visited.
The Duck-Rabbit Porter is very dark, almost black in color, robust with flavors of dark chocolate (as a delicious porter should) and oats for a bit of a toasty flavor. I love porters, and this is a truly great porter. Well done Duck-Rabbit.
They do not have a huge lineup, which I sometimes think keeps the integrity of the batches. A few of their other beers include a milk stout, brown ale (supposedly beautifully bitter – you had me at hoppy) and an amber ale.
I have not been lucky enough to try the others. But the porter was enough to have me wanting more!
