Typically I’d put Sam Adams into the macro-brew category, but Sam Adams does a really good job trying to keep their craft beer beginnings in mind, despite their national popularity.
The Alpine Spring actually caught me by surprise, as I’m not a huge fan of lagers. This unfiltered lager is a good brew for spring—flavorful with a balance of citrus and sweet maltiness (honey malt). It’s 5.5% ABV and I’d enjoy another on a warm summer day.
