Cinder Block Brewery

I have to admit, traveling is one of my favorite things. Even discovering new cities that I would typically not “vacation” to — like Kansas City.

I had an absolutely wonderful time. It’s a fantastic city, great skyline, wonderful people. Additionally, KC has a hoppin’ beer scene. Let’s chat about Cinder Block Brewery.

Cinder Block has a great atmosphere, inside and out. They have a decent variety of beers to select from. I tasted all 6 of the beers they were serving on tap.

Northtown Navie is a full bodied ale. Fermented like a lager, light and crisp and malty. Very sessionable at 5% ABV.

Weathered Wit is a true wit style beer with a light tart flavor, citrus notes and yeast character and complex Belgian flavor. 5.25 ABV.

Prime Extra Plae is hopped with 6 different hops with tropical and citrus flavors. Light hops taste with a great aroma. 5.5% ABV.

Block IPA also is brewed with 6 different hops. Slightly malty, with citrus and passion fruit with a bit of pine. 7.2% ABV.

Pavers Porter is has roasted and chocolate characters and is a very well balanced porter. Great for the first-time porter newbs. 5.6% ABV.

Finally, Unwind IPA — a hop forward beer with tropical, lychee and citrus fruit with a different variety of hops including El Dorado and Hallertau Blanc. 5.3% ABV.
