You had me at Double IPA.
I am just lucky enough to call Great Divide my Cheers (yes, like the TV show). I usually walk in and have the awesome bartenders choose a beer for me. And this particular day, I received the delightful 16th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA (secretly stashed away for no one to see) J
Great Divide really does it right. From big, bold stouts to fresh hopped, dry hopped or double hopped, to raspberry to Belgium’s. But, we’ll say with the hops for now (my fav.!!)
The 16th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA is a copper-hued treat. It’s a wonderful tribute and celebration of everything Great Divide does best. It has a really great balance of malty, with a backdrop of hops that will make you smile. Well, and at 10 percent ABV, you’ll be sure to smile…and perhaps giggle a bit—I did.
I have been really fond of pairing foods with the beers I try; I really think it brings out all the delicious flavors the beer has to offer. Great Divide actually pairs their 16th Anniv. With a bacon and blue cheese hamburger (um, hello, my favorite combo!), barbecue ribs, blue cheese (again, another favorite), sticky toffee pudding and caramel cheesecake. I have to say, I loved the 16th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA and the food pairings with it.

Been reading you (covertly) for a while now.
I love the way you write – it's a lovely balance of fact and fun, it's refreshingly unpretentious and it feels like its from the heart.
Great work!
I'm now stepping into the light and officially following from now on.
